Genre Guidelines:
Please read all of the following guidelines before submitting your work.
Submission Guidelines
- Submitter must be an MGA student.
- The Fall Line Review accepts submissions year round, but for a submission to be eligible for the Spring 2024 edition, it must be submitted by Friday, December, 8, 2023 at 11:59 pm.
- The Fall Line Review only accepts original works previously unpublished.
- The Fall Line Review encourages you to submit works that haven't been submitted to the magazine before.
- The Fall Line Review allows five submissions per genre. See genre specific guidelines below.
- All written submissions must be typed with poetry being single-spaced and prose being double-spaced. Submit written work as .doc or .docx OR .rtf files.
- All written work must be titled, and the file name should contain the title but not the name of the student submitting, so we may maintain blind judging. Also, include your student id number but not your name anywhere in the document. For example, a story titled My Story should have the file name of My Story.rtf/doc. PDF submissions may be returned to the submitter if it contains identifying student information that is unable to be removed.
- When submitting, you may include a biography. This should be 1-5 sentences, and may include your major, interests, and goals, or any other information that you would like to include.
- The submission system only allows for five file uploads. If you are submitting more than this, you may fill out the submission form multiple times with up to five files each.
- The Fall Line Review does not accept strictly academic essays. Please see Knighted, MGA's journal of undergraduate research, to submit strictly academic works for publication.
- Notifications of acceptance will be sent via the student’s college email during the first week of April.
Genre Guidelines:
- Poetry: Please submit no more than five poems. Every poem should be titled. Attach the file in Rich Text (.rtf) or Word (.doc or .docx) format. Place your student ID number on the top right corner of the file. Do not include your name on any of the pages. Each poem should be in a separate file.
- Prose: Short Fiction/Non-Fiction/Creative Essays: Please submit no more than five pieces within these genres, shooting for no more five pages or less each. If a submission is longer than five pages, that is okay. We have certainly published outstanding longer works, particularly when space was available. However, preference will be given to works that are five pages or less. Submissions within these genres should be double-spaced and saved in Rich Text (.rtf) or Word (.doc or .docx) format. Place your student id number on the top right corner of the file. Do not include your name on any of the pages. Each of these works should be in a separate file.

Each piece should be in a separate file.
